Mammalian Embryo and Germ Cell Proteomics

Proteins are a highly heterogeneous class of macromolecules involved as key players in almost any biological process, including developmental regulation and responses to environmental stimuli. Modern mass spectrometry facilitates the identification and quantification of large numbers of proteins even from highly complex mixtures. Using nano-separation techniques coupled to state of the art mass spectrometers, the group’s research activity is focused on early embryogenesis in mammals, and phenotypic plasticity in the model organism Daphnia.
